Professional Experience


Gottfried has instructed the tax authorities of Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia. He was keynote speaker at a high level meeting of the European Union dealing with VAT issues. He has dealt with solutions for the following industries. Automotive (supply chain issues), Real Estate, Retail, Tourism, Aviation, Logistics, Financial Industry, including insurance, Services in the public sector etc.

Gottfried was on panels dealing with indirect taxation in all Member States except in Bulgaria and the Baltic Countries. Additionally, he has led conferences or was speaker in Canada, Australia, Taiwan, was two times speaker at AOTCA conferences (Seoul 2012, Hanoi 2013), in Russia, Argentina, India (1997).

He is a lecturer at the university for advanced sciences’, lecturing VAT base course and in the Master Program European VAT law in English. The Master Program is named as “tax management” and is a program of the Austrian Ministry of Finance. Additionally, he is also a lecturer at the University of Linz. He has contributed articles to several commentaries dealing with VAT and Customs law.

Gottfried has contributed to many tax periodicals and is one of the editors of lose leave (hard copy) + digital Commentary of Corporation Tax in Austria.
